In case you may have missed it, on Nov. 6 the York College Athletic Communications Office unveiled the newest version of the Spartans athletic website.

The new redesign, which had been in the works since the summer, features a clean and easy to navigate layout with a large section of the website being dedicated to York College athletics social media. An area that has seen much growth over the past few years.

“I think our old site was very well organized and easy to navigate,” said Director for Athletic Communications Scott Guise.  “However, it came time to freshen up the look of our page and give our audiences something new.”

The Spartans once again teamed up with Presto Sports for the newly redesigned site, the third time the site has been given a new look since 2007.

At the top of the page you will find the navigation for the page.  With men’s and women’s sports links being located on the left side of the page it allows users to navigate the 22 Spartan athletic programs much easier than the previous layout.

The new Inside Athletics tab features the athletic calendar, the athletic staff directory, compliance, and various other athletic points of interest.  The new calendar also allows users to see events by days and by month.

You can also find the Athletic Facility tab which displays links to information for York College’s Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center facilities.

When you enter the site, the top third of the page features a rotating series of the top six Spartan athletic stories which greatly allows the department to feature the outstanding athletic photography captured at Spartan athletic events throughout the year.

The athletic calendar which is sponsored by Apple Automotive and results section are located to the left of the Northwestern Mutual Spartan Athlete of the Week section.

What Guise hopes attracts more users is the new Spartan Fan Zone section which organizes social media entries for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram while the YouTube link resides in the social media area.

“I am happy with what we were able to achieve with the redesign,” said Guise.  “My hope is that our audiences find this to be a very usable and easy to navigate site.”

Be sure to check out the newly redesigned site at ycpspartans.com and stay up to date with your Spartan athletic teams!
