Procedures and FAQs on Submitting ArticlesThe Spartan newspaper publishes an issue every Tuesday during the academic semester, except during break periods and final exams week. The Formatting
What if I need more time to write my article? Contact one of the editors in advance and coordinate the delay with him or her. That way, the editor can anticipate your article and leave a space in his or her section to accommodate its eventual submission. What if I submit my article an hour late? Or a day late? We cannot guarantee that we will publish late submissions. Only in extreme cases do we make exceptions to the deadline policy. Can I send the article to one of the editors’ addresses? You may submit your article to the email address of the editor of the section in which your article will appear. For example, if you write a news article, you may send the article to the address of the News Editor currently in office. NOTE: Please do not send your article to two different editors of different sections. Doing so will create confusion, and your article may end up being published twice in the same issue. Why should I indent using the spacebar and not the Tab key? This makes it easier for us to copy and paste the text during the layout process. What if I want to remain anonymous? Indicate your desire for anonymity in your email or in a note attached to the article. Policy on writing headlines: Feel free to write your own headline. However, understand that the editorial board reserves the right to alter the headline according to AP Style standards. If you have any questions about this process, contact the editorial staff.
